They said what!??! (5)

Rev. Langerak distorts of the biblical idea of men and women. Andy adds more labels of whoredoms, and Langerak expresses confusion about time.

Manly nonsense

Rev. Langerak https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7NAklrg6yc Belgic Confession Art 14, part 2 Mar 16, 2022

C. min 28 approx: “Male and female together are the complete man … you are not a man until you are married … what will fulfill your life is a woman ….”.

And a bit later: “… that was the female in particular who gave ear to the word of the devil although Adam was sitting right there …”.

Code for blame the ‘little woman‘; which Adam promptly did that very evening.

And min 38:42, “she was created dependent

That is not quite like 1 Corinthians 11:8-10. Instead of ‘dependent’, we learn of power for women, women created as a helpmeet, and co-dependency: a need for each other. In fact, Genesis 2 expresses the need of the man for a helpmeet and not a dependent.

More oppression of women?

Rev Langerak teaches the woman’s only purpose is ‘to complete’ a man. Yet, the Mormons (scroll down to the Women as Eternal Property part); and Christian Patriarchists also teach this stuff.

But, Jesus himself treated women as spiritual equals to men.

After all, women received the news of Christ’s resurrection first, the angels told the women to tell the men; and the women saw the resurrected Christ first. RFPA article by Rev. Slopsema. Also, Mary was personally commended by Jesus for learning his doctrine. And, due to their importance in covenant family life, the Ten Commandments give women specific mention in 2 of the 10 commandments.

Dripping mouths of whoredoms?

Andy, Doctrine Class – 8/25/2021 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmXbB-P0DRU

C. min 59:15 Andy is referring to the PRC: “To wipe her mouth while her mouth is dripping with her adultery”.

whoredoms
Even the world considers this ‘grooming’ language.

He follows up with, “… therefore I say Mother, protestant reformed churches, repent of your whoredom. It is important that we identify the protestant reformed churches, as we may not soften that …”.

C. 1 hour min 17 “the heart of the apostasy of our Mother, which means that she’s Babylon, that’s her essence; and that’s what’s in her cup that she runs around the world feeding to the nations. [It] is the wine of her fornication, and making something of man and you can see it that Mother will not allow man to be made nothing”.

Time = eternity?

Rev. N. Langerak  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDtt_6bNyfI  The Sending of God’s Son 7/17/2022 pm

C. 1 hr. min 35:45, “When he [Paul] mentions time, he means eternity … when the Bible speaks of time, the Bible means eternity … the event that realizes all of God’s purposes so that time really could come to an end at that point, nothing else that happens in time adds anything to this event. Time is full in the sending forth Jesus Christ to accomplish redemption … so that time really could come to an end at that point. Nothing else that happens in time adds anything to this event, time is full in the sending forth of Jesus Christ to accomplish redemption … You understand all that you do; you do things don’t you? You obey God and you repent and you believe and all those things, do you understand those aren’t adding to time, those aren’t adding things that must be done …”.

If Paul meant eternity, he would have said so, or at least explained it in the context.

Is Langerak confusing time with God’s counsel? Or maybe with the Person of Christ? Or perhaps with his work on the cross?

And, both PRC and RP agree that ‘those things’ are not added to the work of Christ, or done by us for our justification. But it leaves me wondering, what about the gathering of the rest of the Body of Christ, the Church? What about our holy life, our resurrection and final glorification? Isn’t that all part of Christ’s work for our redemption too? Isn’t the second coming of Christ and the dawn of the New Eternal Day when time will ‘be full’?

time=eternity
Langerak seems to struggle with the past, the present and the future.

Just enjoy?

He continues in ‘The Sending of God’s Son‘ sermon (above), 1:38:05 “… He poured it out in time, you get to take the cup of the fullness of time, which is Jesus Christ, you get to drink of that cup and enjoy it; the coming of God in human flesh was the event that filled time.”

So, no life of service in gratitude to Him worked in us by the Spirit? We just ‘drink up’ Christ; we just enjoy? Like Whitten’s ‘satisfaction‘ or Crowder’s ‘rest in your reality‘? Aren’t we soldiers of the cross by the strength of Christ’s power? Aren’t we also Christ’s representatives who go forth in his name? Doesn’t he make us fishers of men, helpers of the helpless? Too much legalism in all of that?

He goes on, “… You don’t add anything to time, nothing you do adds something to time. Jesus filled time up time could have could have ended at that point”.

Is that code for passivity of faith and life?

While it is true that time is the outworking of God’s eternal counsel, his assertion that time *is* eternity is false. Time is a created thing; while eternity is not.

One more ‘They said what!??!’ post after this one.

The quotes go on and on. However, the original purpose of their ‘reformation’ was to become ‘distinctively reformed’. But they proved there is no such thing. One is either reformed, or one is not. The confessions do not teach varying levels of ‘reformed’.

In fact, the RPs not only attack long-held truths of the Reformation; they are busy constructing their new brand of ‘truth’. And, that ‘truth’ gets less reformed as time goes on.

hyper-grace

By Brenda Hoekstra

The misleading refrains of hyper-grace have entagled many whom we love and care about. This blog is to help articulate how this is an error and shed light on the subtle differences that make it a departure from the Reformation's truths.
